A high specification 200m2 basement waterproofing project in Hale Barns Cheshire which entailed installation of Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna
BAR Preservation were instructed to complete repairs and waterproofing works to this property following flood damage. The works were part of a large insurance claim. Having investigated the existing waterproofing system built into the structure, it was found that this was inadequate and a cavity drainage system was introduced as a secondary internal system for keeping the basement dry.
The repair works involved the introduction of 4 new pumping stations. Two of the pumping stations were internal and designed to remove ground water entering the basement. A thrid pumping station was a foul pump designed to remove waste water from the bathroom area. Finally there was an external sump and pump introduced to remove surface water from the external below ground courtyard as a back up measure for in case the natural drainage was blocked.
